I was looking on the web for a chart that identifies the spades on different ignition switches. Found a good site last year, but did not bookmark it.
Also, what would be different from a $9.00 up to a $65.00 5 spade ignition switch?

The difference is that each tang on that 5 tang switch can do whatever the equipment manufacturer wants it to do. Those switches are not all made to one pattern. That is why you can't just get any another 5 tang switch and put it in.

The O.E.M. sets the price for their part too.

The wiring diagram for a lawn and garden tractor will almost always identify the lugs on the back of the ignition switch. They are not all the same.
