I purchased a new to me x748 last fall that wasn't running when I got it...some of you helped me with some diagnostics on it..well I have been mowing with it this year and it runs well but when cold starting it will start right off..stumble and die..after about 2 or 3 times of this it stays running and is fine and when I have run it and I start its ok.. this happens after it sets for a cpl days...i changed all the filters..air and fuel and new oil and filter when I first got it and have less than about 20 hrs on them....i did get a new fuel filter to try but its almost like its losing prime or something so fuel is not there consistently..any ideas would be appreciated..thanks

Check the in-tank fuel pump and lines. The pump is connected to the output from the tank by a small hose inside tank. You can pull the seat pan fairly easily. Then the pump comes out of the tank for inspection. also, check the fuel shutoff solenoid to be sure it is moving freely.

Either of these can cause fuel starvation after sitting for a while.

thanks for the reply the fuel solenoid is fine..but I didn't know the pump was in the tank as the way to prime it after a fuel filter change is a lever on what I thought to be the transfer pump on the side of the engine like my diesel tractors...is there an electric pump in the tank also?..thanks again
