This is a X3?? with a twin vert.shaft engine,54" cut. It surges at high rpm and does not idle the best. Have checked fuel flow from the fuel pump and it is good. Have changed fuel filter, drained and cleaned tank, removed and inspected carb.,find everything good there and still does this surging. Can the elect.fuel shut off at the carb. be the cause?

This might be stupid but.....change it over to straight Hi-Test gas. No kidding it works better. Same thing happens when people try to run their new generator with regular gas. They start to hunt and will not run nice and steady at 3600 rpm. Try the Hi-Test first.

Think i found that it was sucking air around carb gasket. Will know more when it is fit to mow. I did forget to mention before that it did run better when choke was half way on.

Try the high test idea first.

If you can make it run better by closing the choke a bit, your problem is probably still in the carburetor. Its probably not the electric solenoid, most likely in the jet(s) or one of the passages.
