The cub runs ok - the problem is the air cleaner is now held on by one screw - the other two are stripped out. I'm not home now so what is the next size up to tap the holes out to?

Or is there a better way to mount the air cleaner when this happens?

They are #10-32 screws, and the easiest repair is to Helicoil the threads in the carburetor.

If you don't have a nearby shop (or buddy) that can do that, you can buy a generic EZ-coil set for less than $20.

Like the other guy said, you can helicoil them. I'm thinking I have one in my collection that has some of the holes tapped 1/4-20.

Another thing that happens is the base of the air cleaner cracks around the screw holes. I don't know what you do to fix that. The problem I think is the extra vibration from the bushings under the cradle.
