Mower deck refurbish

Anyone ever use shaft collars to repair worn holes in deck adjustment mechanism? I want to weld them in place next to the worn hole to tighten up the height adjuster. comments?

You don't say what this is on. (It must be a Deere: The Deere guys think that is the only kind out there.)
I've seen many weld repairs on decks. Some o.k., some pretty yucky. Go ahead, just be sure the lift links or whatever fits the holes will still work in the shaft collars.
