International 234

The local tractor dealer has an International 234 tractor. From what I saw looking at it and what Tractordata told me, it is a Mitsubishi 3 cylinder diesel. It appears to have a 3 speed manual transmission with a high low for 6? speeds forward and 3 reverse This one has turf tires and is rear wheel drive only. Evidently only made in 82-84. I am guessing the sales numbers were fairly low. It has a 540 rear pto. It doesn't have a mower deck with it now, but probably just got brought out of storage for the spring/summer. Maybe it doesn't have a deck. I see that an option was a front PTO, but I didn't look very close to see if it had one. It has a ROPS and three point. With 3 point and rear PTO they might have been pulling a rear finish mower. Anyone know about these tractors? Any comments or warnings, parts availability, etc?
Thanks in advance. Also posted on Tractor talk.

Parts aren't easy to find, but available. Some from Case-IH some from folks that supply gray market parts and some from other brands that sold rebadged Mitsubishi (Cub Cadet for a while). The engine is a solid little machine and used in a lot of equipment so those parts are more readily availble, but you have to dig.

I've had 3 Mitsubishis, 18-25 HP. Great little tractors. The older 2 cylinders are noisy and rough running at low speeds, but solid. The 3s are smooth and much quieter.

I'm just getting into a transmission rebuild on a Mitsubishi Satoh S470d which is pretty much the same tractor as the Case 234. Parts arn't readily available from my CIH dealer but Messicks list a lot of parts. Also, there are a few specialist compact tractor people that can get parts. Apparently they can still get parts from India. I've been picking up a few parts off eBay.
