Hood for Case 444.

My grandson and I went to Newark Valley to pickup a 2414 Power King tractor he bought from Fred Goodrich's son. Fred has a Case Dealership down there. Way down there, that women in the GPS didn't know the short way, we rode 1 1/2 hours to get there. Didn't have time to lookup Fred, it was dark and foggy when we got home. Anyway the question is will a hood from a Case 220 fit on a Case 444? Also, how about the hydraulic PTO assembly?

Even though both tractors are powered by Kohler K engines, the design of how the hood fit the tractor frame changed slightly over the years of production. To give a positive answer, you would have to give me the PIN's for both tractors.

I presume that you are talking about the Rear PTO kit used to power attachments. Again, with out having the PIN's, I can only tell you this. The mounting bracket and valve will work but there is a good chance that the preformed steel lines will not. However, those are easily replaced with high pressure hoses from any hydraulics shop.

Thanks Tom I could easily get the numbers off the one in my garage, but the 220 is an hour and a halfs drive from here. I guess this part of the 444 restoration project will wait til it gets a lot warmer.

The hood on a 444 is the same as ones used on a 210, 220, 222, 224 and 226 ....IN A GIVEN MODEL YEAR. Case tractors are divided up by a thing I call "build". In other words, how Case built a 444 in 1969 is not necessarily identical to how they built that model in 1972, 1976, 1980 or 1984. If you do not install the correct build of hood on the correct build of tractor, then you will encounter unwanted problems.
