Cub Cadet Cyclops?

Does anyone have a 90's cub cyclops? I'm looking for one for the wife to mow with. Just wondered if anyone knew of the bad side of these models. I know that the 90's LT series had the one-way ticket transmissions.

Tom..... you might be dead by then .

I've never seen a garden tractor with that many hours on it. Quite a tribute to MTD Cub Cadets!!

Case and Ingersoll garden tractors easily handle 2000 hours and then if you rebuild the Kohler or Onan.... they are good for another 2000 hours. I am sure that there are several Deere GT's that have the
same sort of lifespan. As they say.... you get what you pay for.

And yes...there is a good chance I will be long dead by the time your tractor hits 2000 hours. You need to spend more seat time on it this season. LOL

The Kohler Command has a plastic governor gear that tends to wear out but its a cheap fix, although you have to set the engine upside down on the bench and pull the bottom pan off to replace it. I had an early '90s 1862 cyclops a few years ago, the clock quit working at 16xx hours but the tractor still ran fine and sold for $2200.... I dont see a problem there.

and I have a 1974 MTD 960 that still drags a 10" plough thru the garden every spring and pushes snow every winter.

Im not really 'brand' loyal to anything but I fix and sell 10-12 tractors every year, MTD are easy to get parts for and cheap to maintain. Find one that hasnt been abused and look after it.
