Case 444 Mower Clutch

Saw an add for a 444 that states that the mower clutch needs to be replaced. How big of a job is it to do this?

It is not a big job. Takes about an hour. However........the Seller is likely not well-schooled about the clutch. Perhaps he doesn't know how to perform a clutch adjustment.

Parts for the clutch are readily available if it does need rebuilding. Replacement is at the far end of the spectrum. You should be aware that a brand new, complete clutch sell for $500.00 to $600.00 depending on the engine. So use that information to your advantage while negotiating for the best price. Right now, without a working clutch, the tractor cannot cut grass or blow snow. That fact makes it
pretty useless..
