I have a holy gas tank. I've tried a sealer and that's not working. Any body have any actual solutions for this? New tank, replacement, open to suggestions

No such thing as a new tank and used tanks are getting harder to find. Have you tried taking the tank to a rad shop for repair?

the size is roughly 7x7x12 with the outlet and fill opening off to one side. something close to this I could make work.

You need to look for a gas tank for the engine not the tractor. My guess is, it's a steel tank on a Kolher engine and they were used in many other applications besides the Case tractor. E-bay has some tanks, steel and plastic in case my guess that it was steel is wrong. Look around their out their.

Jo Bird,
All Colt, Case and Ingersoll garden tractors used engines that did not come with fuel tanks. The tanks were always mounted separate from the engines. Only the early 120,130,150,155,180, 190 and 195 models had the fuel tank mounted under the hood. All the other GT's have the fuel tank mounted below the operator's seat. The CASE part number for the tank is C10479. The cap and cap insert are separate part numbers. The 150, 190 and 120 from 1966 used the same tank. The 130 and 180 models used a different tank.

Keep in mind that Kohler K engines can be quite thirsty when they are under constant load. The OEM fuel tank held 5 US quarts.

ow well I know how thirsty they can be I have 6 kohler engines in various lawn tractors, JD, IH, Economy and 2 Case 446 with the ONAN engines, they like gas just as well as the kohlers.. The point being as you stated, the gas tanks are no longer available from any of the manufactures that made the original tractors, but have similar set ups with the gas tanks in general, so he should take the tank with him to his local mower repair person and find one he can make work.. so in this case function beats OEM correctness..

I agree. If the intent here is to put the tractor back to work, then any tank that will fit the mount will suffice. That said... don't toss out the old tank or the mounting hardware. If you ever sell the tractor, the next owner may want those items.
