Good morning. I have a 14 hp Kohler and a 16 hp. Kohler that are in a 1450 Cub Cadet and a 1650 Cub cadet respectfully. The 14 has a carb issue, the screws that hold air filter on are stripped out and wont hold the air filter on correctly. On the 16 the rod is knockning in it so I am using it as a parts tractor. Will the carb off the 16 fit on and work on the 14? Any help will be be greatly appricaited............. Kenny

I didn't look it up in my Kohler parts books but the aftermarket carburetors I like to use as replacements list the same one for 14 and 16HP engines. Normal jet adjusting aside I would say its an easy and workable swap at the very least and very likely the same carburetor. Bolt it on and see how it acts.

According to the Kohler parts book, they are different. The 14hp is part #KH-47-853-20 and the 16hp is KH-47-853-29.

Maybe someone will reply that has actually swapped them out.

In the past, I had the same issue. I drilled and tapped a larger thread into the carburetor body.

Fix the hole. Fill with JB weld. Drill. Use new screw.

For arguments sake I bet the carb would swap right over.
