1st time posting here.
I have a line on a bolens husky 1256. have not seen it in person yet, hopefully next week. it comes with a tiller and front blade. the engine runs but other than that I know nothing of the machine. it has been sitting in a barn for an undisclosed number of years. is there someplace on the frame or otherwise where the model number is stamped/indicated? are parts readily available for these machines? when I go to look at it what should I be paying attention to?
thanks,
steve

The 1256 is a hydro static tractor with Wisconsin TRA12D engine, the main things to check is give it a test drive and make sure the hydro works and the engine is not knocking ect. If your hydro and engine is working theres really not much else that can be troublesome, model number should be on the side of the dash panel and you'll have to lift the hood to see it.

They are very reliable machines if properly maintained and most parts are readily available

Be sure to make the test drive LONG and tough enough to warm up the hydro thoroughly and verify it doesn't slip when the oil warms up.
