Hi "G" is ground a wire to the frame "B" is battery wire +12 VDC "M" is magneto(most likely the black wire)
"L" is lights "S" is starter a wire would go to the starter solenoid as for the colors with out see the engine etc its about impossible
to say but to guess the yellow and white wires are the alternator wires this is a guess with out knowning what engine what model and what GT your working with.

Their is a web site called VintageSleds.com. with parts for sale and they, with more information than you have provide can surely answer your question . As MNGB has said you have not given enough information to be able to help solve your question. Rupp used at least 4 engines that I know of, Sacks, JLO, Kohler and Xenoah. Add to that the type of ignition system in each was different, some used a CDI ignition box, magneto or a coil with a hot wire from the switch. Then their is the matter of the voltage regulator, only on pull start engines and voltage/ rectifier for elect. start and battery recharging. All of these elements need to be sorted out to make the system work properly. For what it's worth their are manuals on E-Bay that cover each engine configuration at reasonable prices. Sorry I can't be of more help.

i know it's not enough info, however it is a CDI ignition, going to keep working on it, i need to find out exactly what engine i have, been looking all over for any numbers and have not found any yet

ell their you go, it's often said a picture is worth a 1000 words. Okay maybe not a1000 words in this case, but enough to say IMHO, you have a Kohler SB 340 A1 or SB 440 A1 early engine. Later engines used a different CDI box. From your picture their is a faint outline of a rectangle glue marking on the top of the case, under the rt. plug wire, that held a decal with the engine info you are looking for. I have a Volume 1 of the Clymer Series Snowmobile Manuals, it has generic wiring diagram for Kohlers used in Artic Cats 340/440 . However the Clymer ProSeries Snowmobile Service Manual 1962 - 1986 SMS 11, has 75 snowmobiles listed including the Rupp. Cost $ 20.59 on the web.
