I mnetioned some time ago I removed the plastic hood frm my Cub Cadet GT-2550, replaced it with a T0-20 Ferguson hood from a scrap yard. I finally got some pictures figured out [hopefully]. I removed the old hood becuse it fractured, the shocks were shot, muffler burned a hole in it, it trapped heat and over-heated the engine, it made the engine very dusty and pretty inaccessible... other than that, no complaints. I like this; it has a retro-gangsta hoodlum 1950's look. Valspar Cub Cadet yellow spray paint cans.

Good idea. I always thought those front open hoods on CCs were a disappointment. Lots of times the unit would only be 4-5 years old and the hood wouldn't stay up when servicing it.

This is what I did to my 1864.
I picked it up with everything shot except for the engine, transmission and frame.
I built wheels for the sweeper to take the weight off the drive wheels as I haul the load to the back.
I also built an extension of the power lift to the rear.
