front sweeper for vintage tractor

Over the weekend I had a guy tell me that he used to have a front mount sweeper on a late 60s sears tractor. I'd never heard of one but he thinks it was a aftermarket setup but not home made. Anyone on hear remember such an animal??

All the GT companies had them in their catalogs.I think you can still buy 'em for Simplicity, Gravely,BCS,& JD.
Work good on lighter snows

They were an aftermarket product, mainly because the demand for them was low. Sweepster is one of several brands that made the basic sweeper and then produced KITS to adapt them to the various makes of tractors. Kubota offers their version currently and contractors who do commercial snow clearing will often use them to clean the sidewalks. The sweeper produces very little damage to adjacent areas or to the paved surfaces. It also does a better job of cleaning the sidewalk as long as the snow is three inches or less.
