Cub Cadet snowthrower on 682

Also posted on Tractor Talk. I have had this unit several years and have been less than impressed with it's performance. I saw a suggestion some time back to improve the performance by adding some heavy rubber belting extensions to the paddles which actually throw the snow through the chute, to minimize the clearance between the paddles and the housing.
My question is, should I center the belting extension on the paddle with the chute, or should I offset the belting to make it flush with the auger flighting and have a gap on the other side? Actually which side should the gap be on if any?
Also I lined the output chute with thin plastic to minimize wet snow sticking in the chute. I will keep you updated when the project is complete and I have moved some snow.
Thanks, Roy
