KT 17 S carburator number mistake

On my earlier post I said my motor was a command engine it's not Kt 17S twin cylinder . I have 18 hp magnum twin cylinder engine can I put the KT 17S carb on the 18 hp
magnum engine they both are the same size, the choke is in a different position would there b a fuel problem going from a 17 hp to 18 hp .Thanks ,Scott

The KT17 Series I or Series II carb will fit the M18. Choke cable shouldn't be a problem unless it is too short? The choke cable on the M18 comes to the carb from the drivers side.

Does the KT17 have 2 adjustment screws on it? If so, probably it would work. If its fixed jet, the only way to know is to try it. Swapping carburetors between different engines sometimes works, sometimes 'sorta' works, sometimes don't work at all. . .

if the carb. bodies are the same basic casting, you may be able to swap choke shafts. Check the throttle shaft too. Its even more important to have the correct lever on it to work with the governor linkage.

The Kohler KT-17 and the M-18 are basically the same engine with the exception of: the KT-17 has a traditional ignition system (points, condenser & ignition coil), while the M-18 is a Magneto ignition system.
