Whining Hydro - JD 345

I needed to use my JD 345 today to skid out a tree that I hung up in a spot that I could not get to with my farm tractors. I got several small chunks out and then got cocky and cut down another beech tree. I moved it until i ran out of downhill, then couldn't move it. But now my tranny is whining. i am afraid I really messed it up. Does anyone have any ideas what I may have damaged? How expensive to repair? It does seem to move OK.

Thanks,
Tim

If you are LUCKY, you MAY have just "aerated" the oil when you pulled it to it's limits and the relief opened. If that's the case, it will cure itself as the air bubbles leave the oil overnight or how ever long it takes.

Bob - it was quieter today, but I think still more noise than usual. I won't use it again until next weekend, so maybe sitting longer will help it.

Does it have a filter for trans? Not familar with John Deere. I would try and change filter and oil level.Just a thought, good luck
