cub cadet 3000

i have just bought a 2005 cub cadet 3000 it runs but when you mow it will start missing on one cylder for a bit then will start hitting again only when its under power will it miss any thoughts out there

A partially stopped up carb. is the most likely cause. I have recently seen a leaking intake gasket cause the same symptoms. Also, if it has adjustable valves, you might have one that is a bit too tight. A partially fouled sparkplug can do that too. . .

I had this same problem with a Briggs and a Kohler twin. When I pulled the cover off of both I found that mice had chewed the plug wire (one side only) and it was only getting spark to that side occasionally. Once repaired they both run fine now.
