Ford GT-75 Garden tractor

I am very interested in a Ford GT-75,16 HP, 3 cylinder diesel with 60 inch mower deck. Any info from the Ford enthusiasts would be appreciated. I have a Ford 1320 tractor and it is very heavy duty and dependable. I am assuming that a Ford GT-75 will be built as sturdy. I wondered if the hood is metal or fiberglass? Does New Holland still support parts for the Shibaura diesels? Thanks for any insight.

I have one that I bought cheap because the center mower spindle was bad and is unobtainable from FIAT.

My B-I-L works at a CNH dealership and checked all channels available to him, with no luck, including obsolete parts depots.

I posted on this site, as well, with no help, except to find another guy looking for the same part.

I don't have any idea how many other parts have been discontinued.

Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention I found most of the parts needed to install a 3-point hitch NOS, and fabricated the rest, and made a pump mount, enabling me to use it to power a John Deere hydraulic tiller.

Seems strange that you got it cheap for only the lack of a mower spindle. Like others said, making one should be pretty straight forward.

It is not a simple shaft. It passes through the spindle bearings, a sheave, and then enters a bevel gearbox, at which point it is splined to mate with a bevel gear. It is hardened, has a woodruff key slot, and the splines, and a snap ring groove all of which is metric, since it was made by Shibaura in Japan.
