Massey Ferguson 12 hydro pulley question

I repowered a Massey 12 garden tractor and I'm not sure what size pulley needs to go on the engine. I have a 4 in. Pulley on the engine now and the tractor seems to be slow. Never had one of these so I don't really know how fast it should be, also should it be a lot slower in reverse?
It's a hydra transmission. Thanks for your help.

Since nobody replied, I'll wade in here:

Back when I was working on my MF7 there was a Yahoo group devoted to Massey Ferguson lawn equipment. The guys on there were very helpful.

My thinking is if you want to go 1/2" smaller on the engine pulley it should not be much of a problem.
