Anyone else out there playing with the Jacobsen Chiefs, MMs, Fords and Whites? I have several Jakes and Fords. Only have one each of MM and White. I stop by the forum regularly and the "For Sales", and don't see anything.

i love my Ford/Jacobsen's
I collect the late seventies closed side models.
Sounds like your into the sixties models?

I have what I am told is a pretty rare 1966 Ford 80. Thing runs great, needs the parts that hold the balde on and it would be complete. Still has good original paint, except for hood, someone painted it silver.

Yes. My first one was/is a 1971 10hp Ford with the 42" cast mower deck and the 48" Haban sickle mower. It was only AFTER that purchase that I found out it was built by Jacobsen. Been bit by the bug to have one (or more) of each.

Any Pics and where located? I traveled from eastern Michigan to west of Chicago to get the MM that I have and to central Ohio for a really nice Jake.

Here is a picture of my little herd. I really want to find a White to finish off the collection. There are a few Ford's and Jacobsens around here. I collect Molines, most collectors I know have at least one Moline garden tractor in the herd. There are more of those around than a person thinks. I really haven't found any Whites in the area.

Here is mine. It is a LGT 165.
I inherited it from my father-in-law.
I want to chance the transmission oil and filter.
The local supply houses quote over $130.00 for the filter.
Guess I will have to bite the bullet and spend the money. It's the in-line filter.
They however can't tell me with any agreement what type of oil to use.
Can someone help me out?

Can you post a picture of that filter? The Fram filter for my Wards tractor was about $7.00. Hal

I don't have a picture of one, but the filter he is talking about is a special part only available from New Holland at this point. It has hydraulic fittings on both ends and a built in check valve. They are expensive. They can be converted, however.

that's it.
been too wet to go out and take a picture.
there was once a conversion kit available that would take a spin on filter.

So what's the story with these brands. Did Jacobsen make lawn tractors for Ford?
I recently saw a Ford for sale on the YT Tractor photo ads listing that looks very similar to my 1975 Jacobsen Lawn King 1060. Deck an all.

I just sold a whole transmission, buyer wanted the filter off of it. He had bought a tractor with a missing filter and found out New Holland wanted $116.

Ford lawn and garden tractors were made by Jacobsen from the first models until 1983, Gilson took over after that. Shibura (sp?) made the diesel models. I have a 1983, Jake built, LGT 165.
