Just wanted to share a recent score I got as a back up mower. Bought this '97 GT275 for well under $350 at an online auction. It runs and mows good, tires have lots of tread on them, no cracks in the hood, it starts right up, the guy was mowing with it when the auction manager got there to set up. Picture is the auction pic, it was very dirty, in fact the owner bragged it had 20 yrs. worth of dirt on it. He did store it in the garage so at least it's not weathered. It's clean now and put away for the winter, used about half a gallon of industrial cleaner/de-greaser on it. Too much to do on the farm to do all the service it needs, such as the hydro fluid being barely on the stick and the black oil.

Did I go OK? This is my first JD, of any sort.

Hey if it runs nice and doesn't blow up then it is a goodie. Now service everything and change the hydro oil too! Washer up and show us some more pictures and also what engine it has. Fun fun!

Holding off on doing anything else to it until spring (or if I get some time this winter). It's cleaned up a bit and stored in the back of the machine shed. Too many other project right now, like fixing my Expedition and getting it running and replacing the intake/exhaust manifold, cleaning the carb and tuning up my 8N.
