bought at auction 339 hrs. ran fine on level. on slope slips. am goin to suck oil out and re fill. anyone have or rebuild this tranny ? serviceability seems poor.

It's fairly common with that transaxle series. I don't think JD dealers support those transaxles - they want to sell you a new one for more than the tractor is worth. Tuff Torq sells an overhaul kit but you don't need all the parts. Tuff Torq also sells parts. Do a search for overhaul instructions and/or watch the youtube video.
