Steering

My craftsman is vary hard to steer. Tried everything and it seems to be the steering box. Anyone ever fix one?

I just did the steering box in a cub Cadet last week. The hard part is getting the steering wheel off ! And even that wasn't a big deal with the correct puller. It's mostly just cleaning out the old hard grease and checking for worn parts .

You got to tell us what model Craftsman. The model number that begins usually with 9.

Mowers that say Craftsman on them have been made since at least the 70s and made by at least 3 different manufacturers.

There is a good number of models of those lawn mower. I have one that has a gear to gear set up and it works fine if moving but skips over the gear to gear if not moving which is a pain. But others have different set up so we need more info to help you help your self

How about a hint, Craftsman probably only sold lawn tractors for 45 or 50 years.
