How do I adjust the mower on a 124?

Need to get the mower platform adjusted so it mows even. Any ideas? When first mowed it looks great but the next day it looks like it is at a angle. I'm not sure how to correct this.

Also I hear that it will cut better with Gater blades. Has anyone used them? Any reviews?

Thanks guys for you input.

Is this a Cub Cadet or some other make mower?

For any mower, If it seems like on angle, the first thing is to make sure your tires are have uniform inflation side to side. I run my CC at 15 or 20psi. rear and 20 psi on front. I run my Husqvarna at 13 rear and 20 front.

After that, For most other make mowers at least one support on one side is adjustable. You need to make measurements from the blade to a flat floor and adjust the deck accordingly. If the blades are engaged by putting tension on the deck belt, you may not get an accurate measurement without the blades engaged-ENGINE NOT RUNNING, OF COURSE! As sometimes one side of the deck actually raises when the blades are engaged by tensioning the belt.

If this is a Cub cadet, I think you either adjust the front deck loops or else add washers under the rear deck pin brackets.

also check for wear at the pins/bars in the deck carrier frame. You may have to compensate for some.

Sorry it's a Cub Cadet 124. I read that I needed washer to adjust the side to side. Where do I do the measuring? The one left side I think I would understand as being the end of the mower housing but the discharge side I am not sure where. The manual states 13/32 x 13/16 x 1/16 washers, what am I looking for? Are these just regular washers? Ore some thing special? Also if I think I have measured correctly I may need about 1/2" to adjust it to level. Would this could this sound right? It was like this when I bought the machine so in some 45 years this was never done? That sounds odd. I think I understand the front to back adjustments so that I can do. If what I think I am to do is correct please verify I am doing this correctly. I am getting this set up for the Mother in law AND she is very particular with how the lawn looks if you understand.

I also have steering that I need to adjust. It has a half turn of the steering wheel play when the wheel is turned. How does one adjust the play out and what do I look for first to start?

Thanks guys.

You measure from the blade tip to the floor. That way you compensate for any warpage in the deck shell itself.

Not sure how I get around measuring that point. I did however measure the tips of the deck and real close I'm satisfied with it. I'll check the measurement at the tips this evening. I did have to add 1/2" to one side to get it level. Not sure why in 45 years this wan't done. There were spacers under both brackets evenly. I picked the hottest time of the day to do this though. Deck on, deck off, deck on, deck off and sweat a lot. I think I'm close. I'll verify tonight and complete the mowing I have and see what that looks like.

Now on to the slop in the steering. One challenge at a time.

After adjusting the deck as much as I did the lawn looks much better. I mowed two days ago and it looks quite even and uniform so I'm happy. I did look at the tiers on the mower and find that I have two different size fronts. That may be have been what caused the mower to be off. I am happy with the results now.
