wiring on a jd x748

i just bought a used jd and I can get it to run if I loosen the shut off solenoid and jump the starter but I have no start function from the key and no clicks from the solenoid..i do have dash lights that come on and then go out after the system checks itself I guess..this is a newer model than I am used to... I use a 318 now...any suggestions on relays or safety switches to check and their locations would help..thanks for your replies..am anxious to get it working correctly and use it soon..this has the 3 wire solenoid if that helps

The brake safety switch is under your left footrest (on the end of the brake shaft). If is not depressed or PTo switch is on, no start. Of course, a bad switch can appear to be on or not depressed even if they are.

JD has a fairly complicated wiring system so I really recommend you purchase a manual. They are really hard to find for download as JD protects their copyrights.
