When I was a kid I had a fascination with the old walking tractors. As they weren't worth anything yet its probably a good thing I collected up several back then. Are there any good references to identify these? I know one is a simplicity I think two others I have are as well but am not sure. If anyone can help ill get some pics.

I forgot to include only one of the seven machines I have has a data plate and none of them are david bradleys

I think my Simiplicity tractor has a tag on the frame below the engine. (mine is unreadable). Dad gave me this walking tractor when I was a teenager.

Somewhere I have a book on older garden tractors. But: I'm not home, and not sure I can find it if I was home. There are books out there. I used to have an Empire walk behind, built in Canada.

Gravely maybe?

Picked up a model l, bushhog style mower, cultivator (tiller), and rotary plow several years ago for near scrap price. Really is a handy tool and didn't take much to get it back in shape. Put an electric start on it earlier this year but didn't want to mess up the "body lines" with a battery or high hood. Just carry a battery and jumper cables to it, don't need started but one time, you shut it off or it runs out of gas, that's about the only way to kill it. Starting it with that flat strap is a pain in the lower back.

I use my garden tractor and a belt to start my old Toro mower. Hal

Back in the 1950's the janitor at our school used one of those, never saw one since til your picture. He had a single wheel "sulky" hooked behind and I think he could stand while riding.
