Dropped a washer in a twin V Briggs (horizontal)

Didn't realize where it went til I went to turn the engine. Was replacing a belt and hand turned the crank. Locked up tight could only back it a a portion of an inch.
Suggestions for removal needed. Will be looking at it this afternoon with the colonoscopy camera and the four finger extraction device. I fear the only resort will be flywheel removal. Any ideas.
Thanks Tom

The flywheel magnets probably grabbed the washer and it's banging against the "armature", (ignition coil).

Where did you drop the washer, into the engine?? Not sure how you would do that changing a
belt? Are you sure it's a washer? If the inner bearing on the electric pto clutch seized it will give
you those exact symptoms.

Update, Got the washer, yes it was stuck to the inside of the flywheel on one of the magnets. I have one of the zt ingersolls the washer is from one of the control cables that attach to the control levers. The seat is on a lid that stands up vertically above the engine compartment and the levers and cables are attached under this.
Moral of the story cover the engine with a big rag. You have to pull the engine out of the chassis to R&R the flywheel. Tom

I bet that was a boat load of fun! My dad dropped the screw that holds the cover of an air filter cover down the carb. "Why can't I get the engine to run???" I had to take the head off and guess what I found sticking through the head of the valve and the valve seat? So that is where it went!

I got lucky on a '77 Dodge Omni... one of the screws on the throttle plate on the carb (yes, it had a carburetor) worked loose and got sucked into the engine. The plate moved and jammed the throttle open which made for some excitement going into town. Didn't seem to be any other issue, just a brief rattle then nothing. It either got stuck someplace out of the way or got blown out the exhaust. Drove it for several more years until traded for a Honda.
