David Bradley value?

Hello, I found a David Bradley tractor for sale near me. I am located in Virginia. Seller said motor needs some work, a pull cord and air breather. Have not looked at it yet, but wondering what the value on these tractors be worth? Any common concerns with them? Thanks

David Bradley made many different models and some would be far more valuable than others. A single
speed, no reverse, "clicker" hub model with a non-original engine, no hood, and bad tires would be
worth next to nothing by itself - it's value would depend on what attachments are with it. On the
other hand, a model such as the Super 5.6 with the original engine, variable speed drive, reverser,
locking differential, and good tires might be worth $400 for just the tractor. (Note that some of
these models, such as the Super 5.6, did not come with a hood since the engine was too big to fit
under it.) As for implements, a lot of tractors you see come with a plow, disk, and cultivator and
these pieces are commonly available by themselves, too. The more unique attachments would be the
various mowers, harrow-packer, and planter.

Are you referring to the Walk behind tractor or the David Bradley riding tractor? The David Bradley walk behind tractors were tough and dependable units. The later models had larger engines, up to at least six hp, and I am thinking maybe larger, with reverse. The little David Bradley riding garden tractor was the forefather of the Sears Suburban line and had basically the same drive system as the walk-behind units. The only concern I would have at this time would be the condition of the clutch, as the linings are no longer available, (unless someone has started making them again) But they seldom wore out anyway.

I might add that the worth of any piece of equipment depends on the condition of the particular unit in question, the location, as prices vary from location to location, (even with collectibles), and how bad you want it/how bad does the seller want to sell it.

I have learned over the years that the collectibles are worth what two people agree on, nothing more and nothing less. Somebody may give you a general idea of what the
value is, but when it comes right down to it that is a guideline at best. Market value means very little unless you are trying to make a profit (which I have never
figured out how to do) on the item.

If you want that particular item and it is within your budget, then why not just buy and enjoy it?
