LT1050 Cub Cadet Help!

This mower is nearing 10 years old and has cut a good bit of grass. The deck PTO part # 717-04174 failed. Bearings went out and burnt up. Purchased a new unit through NAPA part # 706298 which claimed to have the upgraded bearing (sealed). Mowed roughly 1/2 acre unit overheated and went out in flames! This mower deck is new last year and spindles turn freely by hand. The grass being cut was thick but have cut similar over the years with this CC. Am I over looking something here or did I just get a bad part from NAPA. Thanks for any and all advice.

Most of those electric clutches used by MTD (Cub Cadet) have a torque spec. on the bolt that keeps it on the engine crankshaft. (50 to 55 ft.lb. in most cases) I have seen rapid failure of the clutch bearing if that bolt is overtightened.
