new to me

so been reading a lot of forums and joined this one a few days back
yesterday I took the plunge and bought a pair of MF12's
the one on the left is a 1970 hydra with a koler 301 in it
the one on the right is a 1974 gear with the proper motor
and have one mower deck
as I wanted a gear more than a hydra have spent most of my time on it
got it running and drove it around a bit
there are some bugs to work out
first will have to be a new ignition switch as neither one has one so i'm just jumping the solinod
the steering is very stiff but shouldn't be hard to loosen up
I've read a lot on here about stiff choke cables and throttle cables mine are very free so free in fact that you have to hold it up to maintain engine speed
any tips on how it stiffen it up
I switched out the hoods so I have the head lights on it
the front tires are are 6 in on it and 8 on the hydra would like to swap them over but may have to swap out front axles as well as they seam differant from each other
will also change the muffler for the up right one as it's more to my liking
will have to check out the deck tomorrow as it is locked up but seams to be in good shape
