Looking at this thing, it's barely used. Seems a lot more solid than most new stuff built. How much is a good price? Don't have a manual and can't figure out how to change the belt, anyone know? Are parts hard to find?

To replace eng-trans drive belt, remove hair pin from trunnion on end of pto rod at pivot plate at eng, remove pto brake pad bracket from pivot plate bracket, remove hairpin from pto loop rod(center of loop)remove 2 bolts holding pivot plate bracket to eng block & lift bracket off loop rod,if tractor has a mower deck mounted on tractor loosen belt tension idler on mule drive at front of tractor & remove deck belt from pto, remove right foot rest & belt cover behind foot rest to get access to belt,eng/trans & clutch idler pulleys, after replaceing belt cover MUST be reinstalled to check operation of clutch, without cover on clutch may not operate or you will grind gears trying to shift.

Most parts for tractor are avail thru toro dealers, online dealers or ebay.

The 310 was built 85-93 so you're dealing with a tractor close to 30 yrs old & may have some worn parts on same in addition to eng wear, you'll have to check eng for wear/oil burning or leaks plus any worn mech parts no matter how good the tractor looks, common wearing parts are bearings on mower deck & bearings on idle pulleys, clutch lining & bearing in pto, worn wheel bearings/front axle spindles, worn tie rod ends & steering shaft bearing & bushings causeing excessive play in steering.

As far as what to offer for tractor, check on ebay & craigslist for a 310 & see what condition of listed tractors are and hi/low prices for same & go for somewhere in the middle or lower & take it from there.

What are you comparing this Wheel Horse to?

The 310 is a garden tractor. If you are looking at what is on display at Lowe's, HD, Ace or similar big box stores... that stuff is all low quality LAWN TRACTORS. There is no comparison between how a
lawn tractor is constructed and a garden tractor is constructed. Lawn tractors normally weigh in at less than 500 LBS but true garden tractors are usually 750 LBS and up.
