Gas Gauge ????

I just bought a John Deere Z445 mower. I noticed it didn't have a gas gauge when I bought it & thought I would go to Mother Deere & buy one. But Mother Deere says they have a clear gas tank & I don't need one. Does anyone make a gas gauge that has the float built onto the gas cap. The kind that has the cork that slides up & down the rod as the gas level changes. I see some on ebay but they are a smaller gas cap not a larger one like I need. Thanks Gerald

have some on the shelf with large cap, just don't know if its the right one thou. personally with the clear tanks you don,t need the gauge.

I have an old JD 180 and they had a little float and micro switch sender. I actually fixed mine when the float went bad. Makes a lite on the dash come on when there is about a guart of gas left. You might be able to still find one NOS at a dealer.
