cub cadet 2176

Have a cub cadet 2176 with 450 hours on it. But the deck is not good. Lost a height wheel and one of the mounting points the other day. Does anyone know a place in eastern iowa I might find a different deck? Tractor runs great. But dealer said you have to order the deck shell for 400 and move all the hardware. Not sure if the mower is worth doing all that. Offered me 450 on a trade on a used commercial grade zero turn priced at 3500. Sound fair?

How do you expect any of us to answer that question when you do not disclose any details? What make and model of ZTR? How many hours are showing? Do you have photos?

I wonder if you realize that most commercial ZTR's are traded in because the first owner got the very best part of the service life out of it? So he dumped it while it still ran well, had no known issues and would bring a decent buck on trade. However, the next owner will be the one who will begin replacing parts in the near future because all things wear out. What makes you think that you NEED a ZTR? How much grass do you actually mow each time?

With only 450 hours on your CC, maybe you should be getting a local welding shop to repair the mounting point on your deck and then purchase new height wheels from a local CC dealer.

I mow rough lawn, so Ive been going through the light duty decks about every 4 years. Im getting tired of replacing them. the ztr has 250 hours on it. I have never had a lawn mower with over 400 hours on it, Im sorry I do not know the usual working life of these motors.

You are on here looking for help. How many of my questions did you actually answer? ZERO.

Good luck with your search. I am now done.

Tom failed educate class in school but gives correct advise most of the time if you get by the gruff part.
He is right here.
"Commercial" used to mean something, just like Bolens, or Troy built or Cub Cadet did. But all of those names and terms have been bastardized by sales and marketing to the point they mean nothing, just a decal placed for unknowing people to read and be impressed.
What kind of ZT mower are they trying to sell you? How many hours? What brand and Model? As Tom said mowing services know that if they run the mower until the hydros go out it costs big money to replace them so trade in time is before that happens. Terrain affects this also. A mostly worn out hydro will preform decently on a level yard long after it wont preform on a hilly one.

For the deck there is a place in Shelby Ohio that sells a lot of surplus MTD (Cub Cadet) stuff, look up Glenns surplus aka Shelby Mall. You have to call to check stock.
