john deere L118 fuel pump line question

just picked this up an it runs great, problem is previous owner put on a small electric fuel pump, now there is a rubber line coming from valve cover which was for the original fuel pump an was the pulse line i believe. this line is just left open an there is oil residue all over that side of motor an inside of hood. can i just plug that line off since the original fuel pump is gone to keep oil in, or should i run the line up to air filter housing? this has the 22hp briggs intek v-twin by the way.

Just plug it off. The crankcase breathes through another line to the intake.
