I recently acquired my late Grandfather's old homemade wood splitter. It runs but not right at slower speeds. I found the main problem I believe? The tiny governor spring is broken and un-hooked on both ends. I have bought a replacement spring but I cannot tell exactly where to hook it at both ends? I asked the local Briggs guy and he said he could not remember on this old of a model. I have searched the internet and I see tons of questions but no exact answers with pictures.
Can someone please show me exactly where this little spring hooks on both ends? My Governor linkage does not have an extra hole below where the throttle rod hooks into for this spring to hook. Also, there is no extra hole on the butterfly shaft tab, where the other end of this throttle rod hooks. Did this spring hook through the same hole as the rod on both ends? That does not seem right to me but is what someone else suggested.
Thanks in advance!
Michael
