gravely question

Have a couple of Gravely Model L walk behind. Serial # on one is 80889 and the other starts 83 but rest of number is not legible. What is the hp of the engines on these machines. I cannot find any kind of ID on the motor and I see from the literature they could be any of 3 different horsepower.

I checked here..gtgravelyparts.com/serialnumbers.html and found that serial number 75923 - 86142 showed to be 1953 and 5 hp.

There's supposed to be a way to tell at least 2 of the possibilities by the head style. Upright plug is the 6.6 and angled is 7.6, I think. But I know the heads have been swapped on a lot of machines. Same thing with dating by air cleaner or hood or mag type. Honestly, in 30ish years of running Gravelys I've never seen them run out of power. Overheat, fuel issues, oil pumps, valves, mag troubles, but not a power issue. I suppose it could happen, especially in a rider, but I don't know that there's all that much difference in actual HP. Maybe it's in the torque curve, but they all seem to have lots of power for the application.
