Cub Cadet 1450 - rockshaft

My 1450 has the hydraulic lift, the problem is the lift arms on the rock shaft are held in place by roll pins. 2 years ago I broke the original roll pin and lost my lift. After psending hours I was finally able to drive the remains of the pin out.

I replaced the roll pin with what I could find and all was good for about one mowing season - the new pin apparently wasn't big enough and it slipped out. I spent some time and found the correct size roll pin. And installed it last winter. It worked through the summer but I managed to break it yesterday while pushing snow - the lift arm was taking a beating from the gravel and transmitted te shock to rock shaft.

Where do you get a GOOD/correct roll pin and what have others used on the rock shaft?

What I keep breaking is the roll pin that connects part 3 and part 1.

I don't know about this particular application, but I have seen places where a smaller roll pin is put inside a larger one to make it tougher. as far as keeping it in place you could run a wire through it and wrap around the arm so roll pin can't come out

In the link another answer provided is a pic of the correct pin. It is NOT a normal 'roll pin', but a spiral pin. There are at least a couple of layer of material in it, not one as a regular hardware store roll pin.

If your local dealer can't supply, try this guy:

If he doesn't have it, he can hook you up with a supplier.

That roll pin probably has small inside also know as spiral pins. if you can not find i am sure master mcarr would have them. fastenal would too

If time permits & tractor not needed for several days/wks I would remove rockshaft/arms & check holes in shaft & arm collar as same may be worn eccentric(out of round)in either shaft, arm or both due to time, vibration or abuse and may require replacement of one/both or holes in arm/shaft bored to next larger size pin to true up holes.

If the holes in arm or shaft worn and you do locate/install an oem replacement pin it may not last long due to arm rocking on shaft due to worn holes.
