When I engage the pto clutch on my CC 782 gas, it kills the engine? If I bypass the toggle switch and all the wiring the clutch engages fine and motor stays running. Is my switch bad? or is there a kill wire grounding out somewhere? I know these tractors wont start with the pto engaged, anybody got ideas or a wire diagram, thanks

Sounds like you have one of those stupid safety switches some place that is not working as it should like the seat safety

Do a google search for cub cadet 782+wiring diagram, click on link to cub website, two wiring diag posted for 782 gas depending on sn of tractor.

Just a BTDT shot in the dark, the PTO will not run with the parking brake set. May not be your problem, but it has been mine.

BOBM25:

The Cub Cadet 782 had two different Wiring Diagrams, depending on the age of the tractor. The serial number determines which diagram is used. If you could supply a serial number, then it would be easier to help you with your problem instead of guessing.

Not familiar with a CC 782, but several years ago I had a White lawn tractor with a hydrostat that if you put it in reverse with the pto engaged would kill the engine. Needles to say that little switch under the rear fender on the shifter did not stay connected long.
