You can also install a 10 or 12hp Kohler engine in that tractor.

I have a CC 72 and 100 with 12 hp engines.

I have a 70 or maybe a 72, or it could be a 100 that has a K301 in it (12 HP) The 8HP would be a K 181 they're usually a few on Fleabay and they are a bit lighter than the 241/301 (10/12HP) engines so they ship a bit easier. The 141/161/181 are the same size block. About 30 years ago we blew up a 161 (7HP) that was on a FMC/Bean sprayer and bought a new miniblock from Kohler. The 181 8HP engine was all they sold at that time so our sprayer had a 181 engine with the shrouds, carb, muffler, flywheel and head from a 161. But Kohler did give us a sticker to put onthe fan housing saying it was now a K181 and here is the spec number for the right parts

I have a complete engine (7hp) that came off a cub original that would probably work for you. It runs great but smokes so it will need rings. Has carb, oil bath breather and all. Missing gas tank. 601-573-1854 larry
