Old Gibson Tractor Model A

I have an old Gibson Model A tractor that I would like to restore. The tractor appeared to have been painted orange or rust color when it was built. Does anyone know if some old Gibson tractors were painted this color, orange or rust color. This tractor does not appear to ever be painted any other color. Any help on the proper orange or rust color would be appreciated.

Thanks for the response. It sounds like the same color that is on the Gibson tractor that I have. The websites associated with Gibson tractors do not identify this as a color that was applied when the tractor was built. However, it appears that the tractor was never painted another color. Do you know of the official color paint to reproduce the burnt orange paint?

I found this picture when doing a search for Gibson tractors. Lots of well written articles
and pictures of Gibson tractor history. hal

If you can find a piece of metal that's covering
another piece, the paint may have been protected from the weather. Your local PPG or Dupont paint store may be able to scan a close color.

Various 'orange' colors applied as a OSHA or Transportation dept requirement- 'safety orange' to a neon pink/high visibility orange/reflective orange- and this at times on John Deeres. Check prior owner history if you can and might find it was a parks dept lawnmower or a road mower, contractors tractor that sometime did something for a city, state or a federal contractors job and the safety rules required the 'safety orange'. Industrial Yellow is the next 'odd' color for some tractors- JD and IHC look like went through Molines paint line. RN
