Need 1964 John Deere 110 3 Speed Transmission

I desperately need an AM30293 Shifter Shaft or a used transmission that at least has a good shifter shaft.

This tractor was sold new by my father to one of his best customers. It has been stored inside all of it's life. We have the original Owners manual and sales receipt. My Dad is now 92 years old and thrilled that I am restoring this tractor to keep in the family. I have located all necessary parts except the Shifter Shaft. Any leads on where I can find a shaft or a used transmission would be greatly appreciated.

When restoring, Ebay is your friend.
Or if you want to stay local, try Craigslist or other local classifieds.

I have a parts tractor in my back yard I would sell if interested. I also have a running 64 110, needs work, I am willing to part with both. I am located in Muleshoe, TX.

If you have the part # correct, you are apparently looking for a splined shaft with a gear on it, used only on the early, three-speed versions, (up to serial # 15,000), Key # 12???

Correct. The gears #9 and #10 are bad too but they are still available from Deere. The gear #28 is also damaged, but I can use it if I have to.

I have a 112 in the garage right now with the transmission in pieces, more than it should be. It appears to me that the spring for the detent ball failed allowing the shifter fork to slide and try to put the tractor in a different gear while it was already in one. Someone has all the pieces I need for mine on Ebay right now, about $60 as I recall. I've got another transmission from a Gilson that appears to be the same except for the axle trumpets and shift lever. Check and see it the 110 and 112 used the same transmission.

You might check but I believe the the 60 Lawn
tractor, the 70 Lawn Tractor and the 100 Lawn
Tractor also used this part, May find one of these
tractor is a salvage yard. Good Luck David

Thank you but 112s all have a 4 speed trans. and I am working on a 3 speed.

Apparently you have to be a member here for awhile before that option is allowed. I appreciate that you have been trying to help me.

Someone offered a link to the Weekend Freedom Machines forum and I think I have found the parts I need from a member there.
