Toro Snowblower

My Toro snowblower has a 5 hp Tecumseh engine that misses, balks, some backfiring, threatens to stop,, etc. Had the same problem a cpla years ago that fresh gas solved. Not so lucky this year. So far I've tried fresh gas, new spark plug, loosening gas tank cap, adjusted the "power adjusting screw". Nothing helped.

Starts and idles good, but when I try to blow snow, the problem appears.

All ideas and thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks.

Dump half a can of SeaFoam into the fuel tank and then run the engine. Do not expect an instant miracle. It takes time for the SeaFoam to work on the gummy deposits that are fouling your fuel system. SeaFoam can be found at almost any place that sells auto parts such as Pep Boys or NAPA.

More likely than not, the problem you describe will go away by the time your fuel tank is empty.

Try and get some SEF Fix It Fuel, we have had really good luck with that stuff at work on ones running a little sluggish that did not need a full carb rebuild
