Jacobsen Chief 1000

Just wanted to share a picture of my project now that it is finally completed. I am very happy with how it turned out.

I really want a White Town and Country next but I haven't seen and for sale that I can afford. I've got a Ford 120 also and my dad has a Moline 114. My tractor money is running out, I've been fixing up a Moline Jet star. It would be cool to have the Chief 1400 with the 114 though.

Very, very nice! The old Jakes were nice machines. Manual or electric PTO clutch? I still have a Chief 1000 with a bad man clutch that I intend to turn into a fence line mower some day. I want to put a giant sized weed whacker with it's own engine out front and rig it to lift and slide to get under and around fence lines. The hydro tranny should be perfect for that.

It has the manual clutch on it. I am thinking it is around a 1966 model. I do have one for parts with the manual clutch.

Fantastic! I'm normally on the 9N, 2N, 8N Ford page but occasionally look in here because I'm a Jake nut too.
My first one was a 1971 Ford (Jake). I only found out that it was a Jacobsen built when I received the 4' Haban sickle bar mower and the instructions said, "mower for your Jacobsen Chief tractor".
Between my son and I we have 10 Jake built units: Fords, Jacobsens and one White. I'm still looking for a MM.
Again, great looking restoration.
ps If you have a have any questions for me, flag me down over on the N page.
