How do I adjust Cub Cadet 126 clutch?

Hi I have a Cub Cadet 126 that I recently had to replace the clutch spring in. Now that I have a new one installed I cannot get it into gear. I have tried adjusting the bottom spring all the way in and all the way out and it still grinds the same no matter what. What might the issue be here, and what is the solution. Thank you.

Well, when my 124 does that, the disk is stuck to the plates. I drilled a hole in the cover just over the plate so I can latch the pedal down and pop it loose. It only sticks after sitting for a while so I guess some rust is present.

Some other things you can check: Is the fork actually pulling the release bearing back when the pedal is pressed? I have had to weld up some of the forks to make them work right.

The whole shaft is not moving when the pedal is pressed, is it?

Hope this helps....

The whole shaft is spinning even when the clutch is depressed, I checked the release bearing and it seems to turn freely.

Mine sticks together too. After I have been pushing snow and snow has blown in there, it sticks/freezes together. I reach in with a long screw and pry them apart...bang on it a little.

solution: lock the clutch pedal down. ...even when I let it sit for a while ...weeks..

mine does that too. There is a little drag on it. That spring and throw out bearing gets dry. I squirt a little WD 40 in there or silicone on the spring. DONT GET ANY ON THE CLUTCH DISCS...AIM WELL!!!
mine 'CRREEKS' A LITLE AND I CAN TELL IT IS GETTING DRY. "tHAT SEEMS TO SOLVE IT.

I MEANT TO MENTION IN MY REPLIES ABOVE, I TOOK OFF THOSE THREE ANTI-RATTLER SPRINGS THAT HOLD THAT CLUTCH PLATE IN PLACE SO THAT IT DOENST JIGGLE OR RING, AND THAT ALSO KEEPS THEM FROM STICKING TOGETHER..
