Snapper 2000 GX Awesome Snowblower Performance

Just thought I'd share this. I have a 330' driveway that is a lot of work to snowblow. Bought a used snapper 2000 GX rider with front mounted snowblower last spring in the hope it would be better (and faster) than my 13hp 33" walk behind.

Last monday we had 14" of wet heavy snow with the bottom 2" turned to slush due to the still warm ground. pretty much the worst possible conditions.

The front mounted 42" blower on the Snapper was awesome; by far the best snowblower I've ever used. I had heard mixed reviews about the front mounted units in general but my experience with the Snapper has been excellent. The very short drive belt between the front mounted engine clutch and driven pulley on the blower is a significant part of the success of the design. The blower plugged with wet snow 3X (less than my 13hp walk behind would have in the same conditions) and never hurt the belt.

snapper made some good snow blowers. I was a dealer for many years.

I'm not up to date on the new model numbers.

Is it a 2000 model year model GX?

I believe it was manufactured in the mid 1990's. The graphics on the hood is "2000 GX".

It is a hydrostatic drive with an 18hp Kohler. I think it is a "YT" model.
