JD 400 Will a 20hp kohler magM20QS fit?

Will a 20hp kohler magnum M20QS 1 1/8" x 3 1/2" horizontal shaft engine fit in my John Deere 400 with the K532 engine? Will the power be the same or will I be sorry? If it will fit, will there be any modifications? Thanks, Jack
 
With enough time and money, anything will fit.He is the common re-power engine. What is wrong with the factory engine?

Original engine stopped production in May 2000 Our conversion kits allow you to update to a newer OHV V-Twin design engine without having to cut your hood or frame. You will receive two new PTO belts with any of the conversion kits for this tractor. You will receive a new throttle and choke cable with this conversion kit. All of the kits are pre-wired to match the original wiring harness on the tractor. All kits will receive a new muffler as well, you need to see whether your pipe comes out the front of the grill or out the left side.

Same HP according to the spec sheets I found. It should fit, but may require wiring changes. The magnum series has pointless ignition. You can view and download manuals for both from the Kohler website.
