Scotts transmission

So I trashed the transmission on my Scotts mower. Cost to rebuilt the thing my self parts only is almost $500. Hate to part the thing out it is a good unit otherwise. Any ideas where I can get a trans. that will fit for less money. Looking for a lawn tractor junk yard I suppose.

I do not wish to be a "downer" but..... all of the lawn tractors have a short life expectancy and more often than not, it is the trans-axle the spells the end. As such, picking up a used trans-axle from another LT at the junk yard may not buy you very much time before it fails too.

It seems as though the engines ..... when properly looked after.... will outlast the trans-axles whether they are gear type or hydrostatic. Maybe you will get lucky and find a low hour LT with a blown engine but i do not know how you would determine that. Good luck with your search.

The numbers for my unit are these.

If you have one I would be interested.
