looking for a steering shaft (102458x) for a craftsman garden tractor(917 .255981)a cross over part or any help or ideas to fix would be appreciated

What state are you in?
What is wrong with your steering shaft?
What is the model name on you rider?

I tried searching ebay and amazon using the part #. Try using the model name instead.

I am in Michigan and know of 2 places to find parts for old machines. One is a seller on ebay. The other is linked to a scrap yard.

If you enter "Sears 102458X" into GOOGLE search, just a couple of "hits" down, the link below comes up. HUNDREDS of more possibilities, as well.

The price isn't too bad considering Sears doesn't bother to keep it in stock.
